Alejandro Guzmán studied at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico and currently works as a teacher, director, and screenwriter for film and theater. His first feature film, Distancias cortas, won the Critics’ Award at the Montreal Festival and was screened at festivals such as Chicago, Tallinn Black Nights, and Havana. Estanislao is his second feature.
